Venue accessibility
We're committed to ensuring that all visitors can enjoy full and equal access to our venue and services. This statement outlines the facilities and support available for those with access needs.
The Rochester Corn Exchange is fully wheelchair accessible with step free access to all public areas.
On the ground floor you have access to:
- main entrance (Northgate)
- toilets
- lift
- kitchens
- admin offices.
On the upper ground floor you have access to:
- Princes Hall
- toilets.
On the first floor you have access to:
- Queens Hall
- bar and lounge area
- kitchens.
Entrances
The main entrance at Northgate:
- has street level access with automatic doors
- is wheelchair accessible
- leads directly to the lift and accessible toilets.
The Princes Hall entrance (high street):
- has street level step free access
- must be arranged to be open. If you need access through this entrance, email cornexchange@medway.gov.uk.
Lift access
Lift access is available from inside the main Northgate entrance to allow access to the first floor.
Our lift access:
- is suitable for standard wheelchairs
- has audible floor indicators
- has tactile buttons.
You should let staff know if you need assistance using the lift.
Accessible toilets
Accessible toilets are available:
- on the ground floor near the main entrance
- on the upper ground floor near the Princes Hall.
Facilities are signposted and step free.
Stage access
A portable ramp is available for stage access.
You'll need to let us know you need this in advance, so it's in place for your event.
Assistance and service dogs
If you have a guide dog or other trained assistance dog, they're allowed in our venue. No other animals are allowed.
To ensure we can make suitable arrangements, before your visit, please email cornexchange@medway.gov.uk.
Hearing loop system
Our hearing loop system is available in the Queens Hall using our PA system. This works with hearing aids set to the T (telecoil) setting.
When the PA is not in use, the loop is inactive.
If you need assistance with hearing loop set up, please ask our staff.
Parking and drop off
Pay and display car parks with Blue Badge parking are located within 100 meters of the venue
No on-site parking is available, however there is a pay and display car park opposite the venue.
A drop-off point is available at the Northgate entrance.
